There is always Zillow.com to check out, but, and a big but it is, Zillow is not able to figure out if your home is on a busy street, near a neighborhood transition etc. That's where you still need the experience of someone who has watched neighborhood specifics and market movement. A comparative market analysis is not an appraisal(see my Newsletter on appraisals vs. comparative market analysis). A CMA as it is called, will give you the best snapshot of recent sales within your neighborhood of similar type homes with adjustments made, which reflect the opinion of the REALTOR. That's why, you may get several opinions, which will more than likely be a range, of what any given buyer may want to pay.
